Tattoos are a way of expressing what is inside, on the skin. The art of the soul can only be expressed in so many ways. The voice, what we say, what we sing, how we say things, can express simply a small part of who we are as people. True beauty is in those who have found what is in their soul, can picture it, and are willing to place it on their bodies for all to see. They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, but they are simply the vessels by which we view the souls of others. You can see some of a soul in the eyes. You can see the emotion, you can see the danger, you can see the person, but you cannot picture what is inside the soul. You only see the shield over which we protect our souls. When you have the bravery to display your soul on your skin, you are truly a strong soul. Having symbols and pointless tattoos makes the picture of the soul tainted. You can't see the true beauty if it's being scummed up by pointless imagery. The flowing lines and extravagant pictures that many decide to put on their bodies represent what they've been through and who they admire, whether clearly stated or simply put forth symbolically. When you get a tattoo you are letting the soul leak out onto a canvas that will stay with you forever, reminding you of your past and the way that your soul grew and flourished. It is not only a way to express what is in your soul, but a way to track the progress of your soul on it's way through this tragic, beautiful, unpredictable thing we call life.
